Feed On: Rats will feed on human and pet foods, and contaminate the foods and containers with urine and feces.
Nests: They will tear up wall and ceiling insulation for their nesting, and their gnawing will damage structures, furniture, and wiring.
Entry: Because they are excellent climbers, they can enter homes through holes as small as 1/2 inch, that are low or high.
Concerns: Rats can carry and spread disease such as plague, typhus, leptospirosis, salmonellosis and rat-bite fever. Norway rat burrowing can also damage building foundations.
